With respect to health care, the same rules that apply for asylum seekers are also applicable for beneficiaries of international protection (see Reception Conditions: Health Care). In general, from the first day after recognition, health insurance paid until then by the SAR ceases with respect to beneficiaries of international protection and they have to cover on their own the monthly health insurance payment. This minimum fee is 44.80 BGN / 22.90 € for unemployed persons who do not receive indemnities.[1]

In 2022, both beneficiaries for international protection and asylum seekers had unrestricted access to vaccination against COVID-19.
