The Asylum Act foresees that asylum seekers may be detained for up to 3 months. This period may be extended once for another 3-month period by a decision of the Asylum Office[1] and on the same grounds as prescribed in Article 77 (1) of the Asylum Act. The detention order in line with the Foreigners Act can last for 180 days maximum.[2]
